Special Hardware Considerations
On analog circuits, you can use the Pick Up step to take the phone off-hook. Digital circuits typically require that a call is offered by the network before the port/channel can be taken off-hook.
Not picking up the phone when a call is offered to the Image:IV 010.gif Wait for Call step, and subsequently using Pick Up step, or Hang Up step is only fully supported on digital telephone circuits. This allows the application to detect an incoming call, check if the number dialed to reach the system equates to a particular service offered on the system, and either route the caller to the appropriate service, or hang up to reject the call.
